RAJASTHAN

Blessed with exquisite natural beauty and a great history, Rajasthan, attracts hoards of tourists for its splendid palaces, historical forts and rich art and culture. The fortress-city of Jodhpur, nestled at the fringe of the Thar Desert is famous for its blue homes and architectural splendors. Udaipur, popularly called the ‘Venice of the East’ is admired with some beautiful lakes like lake Pichola, Udai Sagar, Fateh Sagar Lake and Swaroop Sagar. The major attractions of Jaisalmer are the splendid Jaisalmer Fort and a number of havelis including Patwan-ki-Haveli, Salam Singh-Ki-Haveli and many more. Mount Abu is the highest peak in the Arravalli Range caressing the state and it isamous for housing the 11th century Dilwara Jain Temple. Pushkar is considered as one of the five sacred pilgrimage sites of Hindus, nestled on the shore of Pushkar Lake. The most revered temple of the place is Pushkar Temple. Bikaner attracts tourists for its palaces, havelis and temples. Ajmer is one of the epicenters of pilgrimage for both Hindus and Muslims. It houses the Dargah of Khwaja Moin-ud-Din Chisti, the most revered Muslim shrine in India. The Ranthambore National Park is also worth a visit, spread across a vast area of 400 sq. km.

GUJARAT

The colorful state of Gujarat allures tourists with its ancient palaces, renowned temples, beaches, ports and lush green forests enriched with spectacular flora and fauna. The best-known temple of Gujarat is the Somnath Temple, which is one of the Jyotirlingas. Ahmedabad in Gujarat exhibits a number of architectural treasures like Ahmed Shah’s Mosque, Teen Darwaza, Jumma Masjid and many others. The center of attraction of Ahmedabad is the Ashram of Mahatma Gandhi nestled on the bank of River Sabarmati. The sacred town of Dwarka nestled at the confluence of the River Gomti and Arabian Sea is a must visit for all tourists. The old town of Bhuj is famous for its wildlife sanctuaries, the most famous being Narayan Sarovar Sanctuary. Bhavnagar also attracts bulk of tourists to savor the view of the splendid architecture of Takhteshwar Temple, Nilambag Palace, Town Hall and many others. The largest city in Gujarat is Gandhinagar, the state capital, famous for housing Indroda Nature Park, Akshardham Temple, Gujarat Science City, Adalaj Ni Vav and other tourist places. The city of Mandvi boasts some exquisite architectural wonders that are worth visiting. Some major temples of the place are Swami Narayan Temple, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Raneshwar Temple and Vaishnav Temple at Sundarvan. Thousands of tourists visit Pavagarh, a prominent pilgrimage places of Gujarat, famous for the Mahakali temple. Gujarat is also home to the famous Gir Reserve Forest –  which is the only natural habitat of Asiatic Lions in the world.
